18 months

It has started....the tatrums, the kicking, the throwing themselves on the ground, the doing everything they aren't supposed to and laughing at you when you tell them no.  I assume it only gets worse from here...at least for the next year or two.  I hope we make it out alive!!!

School is starting soon and life will get back on some sort of routine.  Clyde is still going well. I can't wait until it gets a bit cooler and I can take the kids to the park more often.  They did just open a splash pad about 15 minutes away.  I plan to take the kiddos..but once school starts.  Maybe it will be less crowded then.

Presley has become a little mockingbird.  She likes to repeat everything you say which is way cool and a lot of fun.  She still loves to dance and sing and stomp her feet.

Keegan has added some new words to his vocab that he uses a lot.  Book and down.  He likes to climb on stuff but is too fearful to get down by himself so he says "dah dah dah"  He also loves to throw is food.  When you tell him no he laughs and continues and then will hit his hand and laugh.  (We slap his hand and  say no when he does it).

Ashton has a new favorite game called "hide bunny".  I hide this stuffed bunny and then all the kids go look for it.  When Ashton sees it he starts running toward it giggling super loud.  Keegan and Ashton also have started having screaming contests.  The get pretty high pitched.  I think it is so funny but at some point it will probably be annoying.

17.5 months

Ok I admit it...I lied in my last post.  An update did not come soon.  My apologies.

Wow.  It has been a crazy month.  In short...Keith accepted a new job in Clyde at Clyde H.S. (go Bulldogs) as the girls athletic coordinate,  head girls basketball coach and head cross country.  So we got to move again.  Lucky us!  We have a pretty awesome house and live minutes away from Keith's sister and family and a short walk away from a pretty cool park.  We also have already made some friends across the street who have a 10 month old.  Clyde is a good 15 minutes away from the big city of Abilene.  I am getting adjusted to having to drive a little bit to see a walmart.  Although they do have their own grocery store here but its kinda pricey  $7.09 for a 1/2 gallon of blue bell!  Geez!

The babies have taken the move fairly well.  They went several days off their schedule which equals CRANKINESS! They have loved exploring their new house and we have pretty much baby proofed everything except our room.  So they are able to roam about.  They have really enjoyed going to the park.  They are able to climb up everything and even get brave enough to slide down a few slides.

Presley - last doctor visit she weighed 20 lbs and was in the 50th percentile for height.  She is so sweet and kind of a ham.  She also can be very defiant.  You tell her no and she laughs at you.  You slap her hand she tells you no, hits you, and then goes and hits her brothers.  Oye,.  She is sweet though and still loves to dance and give hugs to her stuffed animals and sometimes brothers.  Presley is still the daredevil...not scared of anything.

Keegan - at his last doctor visit he weighed 29 lbs and was about the 50th percentile for height.  He has had a rough start in Clyde.  He got stung by a scorpion!!!  He was okay though and handled it well.  He also got attacked my mosquitoes which I think he may be someone allergic to because is bites swell up and get a little blistery.  He also tends to be the one to always step in the sticker burr things.  Those are AWFUL here.  Keegan is still sweet as can be.  He is talking a little more half the time with his mouth closed.  He maybe the next famous ventriloquist.  He also loves shoes.  He carries them around, moves them about, gives them to his brother and sister and says "shhhh"

Ashton - his last visit he weighed 27 lbs and was in the 75 percentile on height.  He has been a lot less grumpy THANK GOODNESS!  He has also become very sweet and giving of hugs and kisses. He has also gotten a lot better about sharing.  Not all the time but he will give stuff to his brother or sister.

We have been working on sharing, talking, eating with our spoon and fork, following directions, undressing self, cleaning up before bed, and washing self.

I can't wait for them to start talking more (I know everyone says kids are great until they start talking but that's crazy)

Pictures will be here soon.  The blog is uploading them weird and off color.  I will try again later.

As Father's Day Approaches

Mothers are not fathers and fathers are not mothers.  Each one brings something specific and special to their child.  In a child's eyes a father is strong, smart, fearless, funny, a hero, a hard worker, goofy, handsome and this list could go on. Check out this video from shutterfly and at the end it shows you how to get a free card...(mothers are more saving savy)

15 month take over

15 months!  Woo hoo!  We decided that we were old enough to take over this blog. In the last month we have:

been to the park many times and climbed up and down the play scape and slid down slides. Ashton slid down the small slide by himself!  I (Presley) slid down the great big slide holding mommas hand.  Keegan just likes to crawl up and down the big steps
.
We have been out to eat several times and enjoyed new meals. My favorite was On the Border our waiter was soo nice and gave us ice cream!  Ashton's favorite was Texas Roadhouse...he loved the rolls and cinnamon butter.  Keegans favorite was Orange Leaf Yogurt!  He loves sweets!

We have been grocery shopping and all sat in the cart. Keegan got to sit on the seat closest to momma.  It was so not fair!  I had to sit with Ashton in the cart but we had fun anyway.  We played with the cold milk jugs until we found a small package of spoons and took turns throwing them out.  Momma was so pleased with us she got us each a cookie!

We have been to the zoo and saw almost all the animals.  Our favorites were the flamingos!  We saw a gorilla playing with a baby gorilla.  She swung him over her head.  It was pretty funny.  We also heard a real lion roar.  I got kinda nervous but everyone seemed happy around us so I knew it was ok.

We have been to a birthday party with many strange people but we weren't scared.... we walked around.  They had this cool chair that was my size!!  I think I will put it on my Halloween list...that is when Santy comes right?

I am pretty much a big girl now.  I walk but my favorite thing to do is sing and dance.  Momma likes to sing and dance with me.  We sway back and forth and laugh.  I also LOVE to look at books!  I climb in mommas or daddas lap and they read me the stories.  We point at pictures and they even let me turn the pages sometimes.  Sometimes I like to be by myself and look at a book....well until Ashton comes over and steals it.  I think that is his favorite thing to do!  So not cool Ashton.  I can say a few words now like...ball, momma, dadda, book, nap, eat, cup and a bunch more but I don't think anyone can understand me.  I am also the best helper EVER!  When momma or dadda say nap and elephant in the same sentence I run to my room and to my crib.  I also help clean up toys and bring stuff to momma when she asks for it...and sometimes when she doesn't ask.  I am that good!

Ashton here.  I am being forced to write this.  I don't want to be writing this.  I would rather be in someones lap or arms.  I don't know whats wrong but I have been so grumpy lately....they have been calling me "grumpy bear" or grumposaurus"  pretty rude huh?  The good news is I have learned a new game, its called:  "I'm gonna get Ashton"  Momma or Dadda chase me around the house or sometimes they hide and jump out and scare me.  I laugh.  It's funny.  Sometimes Presley will chase me but I chase her back.  I love to climb on top of stuff especially the couch and then hit this big picture thing.  Momma and Dadda tell me "no!"  I laugh and keep doing it.  They put me in my room in this pack n play thing.  I don't mind it.  Ohh the other good news is they made the house bigger!  We can now get to where our high chairs are!!  We like to play in there!  I wish the dog food and water bowl was still in there though...Good eaten!  I also like to look at books!  I like to throw them too and squeal.  I can squeal soo loud it hurts my ears it's AWESOME!

Yes...and I have to cover my ears when he squeals.  This is Keegan by the way.  I like everything.  I love to play with all my toys and look at all the books. I like to be by myself and play but I like to play with my brother and sister too.  I don't cry alot....not like Ashton.  Ohh I am walking now.  I Keegan Lynn Pierce can walk!  I'm not super fast yet but thats ok.  I can finally give my poor knees a break.  They were starting to hurt!  I love to pet Mercy (the puppy) and love to look at Grace (the kitty kitty).  Grace won't get too close but she is soo funny looking I can't help but laugh when I see her.  We have been riding in our wagon every day after we eat dinner!  It has been so fun!!! Lots of people stop and say hi.  I like people.  We also saved a baby bird.  I like birds.  At the zoo we went and there were birds EVERYWHERE!  We got to feed them.  They were so cool.

This is us at the zoo!!

14 months

Well the kiddos are 14 months as of Sunday.  They are full of life and spunk.  We had a good Easter.  The week before Easter we went to Childress and celebrated with Keith's family.  We did an Easter egg hunt and well the triplets probably got the least eggs (because they were the youngest...not because they are slow...because they are super fast for their age haha) but Carly ( a cousin) was nice enough to share hers.

My parents came over and spent the day Thursday bringing lots of goodies.  And Keith had off work Friday and Monday.  I would say we had an all around great Easter.

The babies these days are in to EVERYTHING!  But its okay because our house is pretty much 100% baby proofed...well the areas that are not blocked out off.  Their new favorite place is the couch.  They love being on the couch and now they can climb up on the couch by themselves.  Presley pretty much can every time she tries and the boys its hit or miss.  They also love to get in stuff....we have a diaper box which is like one of those canvas storage containers w/o a lid.  Well they love to climb in that and throw all the diapers out.

They also love to take everything out of their drawers in their room.  If I leave the door open it never fails the next time I go in there pajamas will be everywhere.  They have also learned how to take the plastic bins out of their "organizational center" in their play room and dump their toys everywhere.  So it's pretty much impossible to keep a clean floor.

Presley and Ashton follow each other around the house.  Sometimes chasing, tackling, or just up to no good.  They are getting pretty fast with their walking.  Keegan is on his way to being a walker.  He is now standing up by himself and can take a step or two.

The triplets are starting to understand stuff I say and follow directions.  It's nice!  It's kind of amazing.  I can say "Yall go play in the play room" and off they go...they may not stay in there but they go.  I didn't teach them that...but I guess they have been listening.  Hopefully their listening skills continue.

A few quirks.  Presley - makes a lot of funny faces with a scrunched up nose.  Ashton - loves to fix his own hair with his food and is really good at putting his finger up his nose.  Keegan - is so sweet and makes squishy faces.  They have all got a lot verbal (and by verbal I mean loud gibberish sounds) ...its been a bit louder around here.

Girls day

Wednesday, Presley had an eye appointment in Ft. Worth to make sure her vision is good.  Because she was born w/ such a low birth weight (2 lb 11oz) it is protocol to go to a retina specialist once release from the hospital.  Well she did and did great.  He wanted her to have her eyes checked by a pediatric eye doctor at a year.  So me and Presley left the boys to fend for themselves and headed to Lewisville on Tuesday.  We went to out to eat w/ my parents and brother at On The Border.   Presley seemed to enjoy the individual attention.  I left her w/ my parents and went to paint with some of my friends from high school.

On my way to paint I talked to Keith to see how they were surviving.  First thing he told me...  " I heard the boys giggling but didn't think anything of it (during their nap time).  When I went to get them after they woke up I picked Ashton up and he was naked!  He had taken his diaper off and had peed everywhere.  I should of checked on them when they were giggling."  Haha  greatness.

He then told me that he put the tent up in the living room and they played in it.  Then he took it outside and put them in it.  They apparently didn't want any part of that tent...they wanted on the grass.  Because it was wet he decided to just bring them in.  After that "they fell apart."

Wednesday we went to the eye doctor which took FOREVER!  They had to dilate her eyes and wait 30 minutes and then  it took the doctor a while to get to us.  We made it.  The doctor said the health of her eyes look great.  She did say that she will probably need glasses at some point because she is slightly near sided.

We left the doctor and headed back to Wichita Falls.  We stopped in Bowie and went through the McDonalds drive through for lunch.  I asked the lady there if she knew of any good parks.  She said "Do you want safe or good equipment?"  I said "both"  I think she sent me to the safe one b/c it did not have good equipment (not like we needed it).  So we ate in the park and I let Presley swing and walk around for a bit.  Then we were back on the road.

We finally got home.  I am not sure if the boys or Presley noticed that they weren't there but when they saw her...they tackled her! The boys seemed to be happy we were home and I think Presley was happy to be home as well.

It was nice to have one child for 2 days...but wouldn't trade it for the world.

13 months

We made it 13 months!  It has been a pretty cool adventure watching the babies grow.  It seems like daily they are learning or doing something new or funny.

Last week Keith went to the girls basketball tournament in Austin and I got to join him.  We left the babies with my parents for 3 whole days!  We had fun.  Keith watched basketball pretty much all day and night and I watched a few games, hung out with friends, and ate out at all my favorite Austin restaurants.  There are so many "cool" people in Austin.

The babies did great.  My mom said they played outside in the backyard every day and sounds like they ate well!!  I enjoyed my time away but was kinda ready to get back and see them and see if they remembered me.  They did.

Here is the monthly update on the kids (not babies...I have to remind myself)

Presley - She is a pro at walking now and is getting pretty fast. She seems to be the "follower"  She usually follows Ashton around doing what he does.  She knows how to show off and be silly.  When she realizes she makes people laugh she keeps doing whatever it is.  She likes veggies over meat.  She loves to push boundaries.  You tell her no...she looks at you and does whatever it is again.  She puts everything up to her ear and pretends to talk on the phone.  She now says "uh oh" and "woah"

Keegan -  Keegan is still crawling.  He seems to be getting a little braver on his feet but is still unsure of the whole walking thing.  He still loves to play the piano and dances while he does it.  He has become a lot less sensitive...he doesn't cry every time his brother or sister touches him.  He has actually started tackling...Presley mostly.  They have just started playing a game where one of them gets the ball and the other chases and tackles them.  The laugh when they are tackled. It's pretty cute.  He loves to throw balls.   Keegan is also still pretty laid back when he wants to be.  Still a flirt.  He is the first to warm up to new people.  He also seems to be left handed.  So maybe we will have an artist in the family.

Ashton - He has also become much better at walking.  He is still wobbly but seems to rebalance himself well.  He is also the loudest.  He jabbers a lot and screams.  His screams kinda sound like a Pterodactyl. He also loves to throw stuff. He is probably the best listener when you say no. If he is about to put something in his mouth and you say "uh uh" or "no" he throws it down and acts like he wasn't doing anything. Ashton likes to steal toys from his brother and sister and but they are started to fight back. He is probably our best eater. He will pretty much eat anything and he eats alot and when he really likes it he says "num num num"

We have been working with our babies on not throwing their sippy cups down on the ground. The seem to understand but Presley likes to challenge me. I have also tried to introduce the spoon. They can get it in their mouth they just don't know how to scoop stuff onto the spoon yet. They are still taking 2 naps a day. A morning nap that has been lasting 1-2 hours and then an afternoon nap that last 30 min -1 hour. We still have them on a schedule which I think has helped so much in many ways.

Here are some pictures from Valentines Day.
